Aurinkokivi school and multipurpose building will be the most important public building of Kivistö, new residential and office area of the city of Vantaa.
New building will house a comprehensive school, kindergarten and a maternal and child health care centre. It will be built in two phases.
To best adapt to the site topography the building varies in height from one storey day-care wing to three stories on the east side. Building creates a new public entrance plaza on the main street side and at the same time shields school and day-care courtyards from traffic.
The lobby connects all the different levels and functions and offers long views to the surroundings.
